About Dan Craig
My early education began with Kearny Hillard, farrier to the United States Olympic Team. Being an apprentice to such a renown farrier in the balanced hoof movement made an excellent springboard into the horse world, allowing me to move on to shoeing horses in all disciplines. From upper level sport horses, to top notch show champions, all the way to working ranch horses, I have been blessed with a diverse clientele.
After joining the natural barefoot movement in its infancy, I helped spread the natural barefoot philosophy in Colorado. The relationships I develop with the horses I work with constantly inspires me. Helping a horse rebound from a significant condition like laminitis, to having a sound healthy life again, is a humbling journey like no other.
I have been a presenter at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo since 2013. I educate attendees on the anatomy and function of the equine foot and how a barefoot hoof is healthier for a horse compared to a shod foot.
All of this tied handily into owning and operating a rehabilitation program for over a decade. Working as a team with top practitioners in modern and alternative medicines, we were able to successfully return equines of all types to soundness after debilitating struggles with laminitis, navicular, and upright feet.
That team approach continues today!
Should your horse have wellness needs that go beyond my specialized care, I work with several excellent practitioners employing an ecological approach to equine well-being, including the following specialties:
- Nutrition
- Behavior evaluation and adjustments
- Massage
- Energy work
- Movement therapy
- Overall Assessment - Balance in the mouth/teeth, body, mind and emotions
I would love to have a conversation about your horse and their particular needs.
If you have any questions I invite you to give me a call at (303) 552-1030 or Schedule an Appointment.
