MEET DAN CRAIG
A Lifetime Dedicated to Horses.
Experience, compassion, and a belief that every horse deserves to be understood.
A Journey Built
A Journey Built Around the Horse
Dan's education began with an apprenticeship under Kearny Hillard, a farrier to the United States Olympic Team. That experience provided a foundation in hoof balance and opened the door to working with horses across a wide range of disciplines.
From elite sport horses and show champions to working ranch horses, Dan developed a broad understanding of the demands placed on horses and their hooves.
As his experience grew, so did his interest in natural barefoot hoof care. He became involved in Colorado's natural barefoot movement during its early years, helping introduce an approach centered on the horse's natural hoof function and overall well-being.
What began as a profession became something much more personal: a lifelong commitment to helping horses live healthier, more comfortable lives.
A Whole-Horse
A Whole-Horse Approach to Care
Dan understands that a horse's well-being involves more than its hooves.
His experience operating a rehabilitation program taught him the importance of looking at the whole horse and recognizing how different aspects of health, movement, and behavior can influence recovery.
When a horse's needs extend beyond his specialized hoof care, Dan works with other experienced practitioners to help address those challenges.
This collaborative approach may involve nutrition, behavior, massage, movement therapy, and other aspects of equine wellness.

The goal is always the same: understanding what each horse needs and helping it move toward greater comfort and soundness.
